Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Law

The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Law (FASSL) prepares students for Bachelor's degrees in the fields of social work, law, applied psychology and public management.

Bachelor programmes run four years (240 EC) and consist of a major (210 EC) and a minor (30 EC). There are seven programmes for Dutch-speaking students, which are mostly delivered in both a full time and a part time variety:

  • Social Work and Community Services
  • Cultural and Social Education
  • Social Educational Care Work
  • Legal Studies
  • Social Legal Services
  • Applied Psychology
  • Public Management

Master's Programmes

The School of Social Work and Law has developed three Master's programmes:

  • Master Social Work
  • Master Legal Management
  • Master Urban Management

Amsterdam Research Institute for Societal Innovation

The Amsterdam Research Institute for Societal Innovation (ARISI) is embedded in the FASSL. This centre develops knowledge and expertise in four research areas:

  • Social Work
  • Legal Management
  • Applied Psychology
  • Urban Management
