AUAS Library

Borrowing from Other Libraries

The Library does not have the book or journal you need? Borrow it from the UvA or from another library in the Netherlands. Ask us to help you.

UvA Library

With a valid AUAS employee or student card you can borrow for free from the library and the Book Depot of the University of Amsterdam. You can request material via the catalogue and have it delivered to an AUAS library location.

Amsterdam libraries

If you wish to borrow from various libraries in Amsterdam, you can obtain an AdamNet pass . This entitles you to a library card from:

  • the UvA/AUAS Library,
  • the Public Library Amsterdam (OBA),
  • the libraries of the Free University (UBVU),
  • the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica,
  • the InHolland University of Applied Sciences Amsterdam/Diemen.

Other libraries

If a book or article is not held by the AUAS or UvA Library, you can request it from another library via one of the information desks, or via the contact form Borrowing from another library. Do this by stating:

  • Title
  • Author
  • Year
  • ISBN or ISSN number
  • Pick-up location (Kohnstammhuis, Leeuwenburg, Nicolaas Tulphuis, Fraijlemaborg, Dr. Meurerhuis)

Publications held by other libraries can be found in WorldCat Discovery. This catalogue contains the collections of over 400 Dutch libraries. It also contains the bibliographic data of articles from a large number of journals.
