S. Geijer (Sam)
Lecturer-researcherSam Geijer is a lecturer, researcher, coach and graduation supervisor for the bachelor programme Sport Studies - track Sports, Management and Business. He teaches a course on the organisation and impacts of big sport events, as he has a research background in this field. He coaches a group of first-year students, supervises students during their graduation and is involved in the research group within the programme.
Sam completed his bachelor’s degree in Sport, Management and Business at the AUAS (2011) and his master’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the Utrecht University (2014). He has a background in qualitative research and although he partly focused himself on criminality, his major focus went out to sports for development and inclusive sports.
During and after both of his studies he regularly stayed in Brazil, since he conducted various internships and researches in that beautifuln country. He had the privilege that some of his efforts were related to the FIFA WC 2014 and the 2016 Paralympic Games.
