More about Tamara Witschge

Within the research group Creative Media for Social Change, Tamara and her colleagues develop projects that centre imagination, doubt and empathy. They do so in collaboration with students, researchers, journalists, artists, and social partners.

Tamara was trained as a social scientist and obtained her PhD in 2007 at the University of Amsterdam, at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research. She previously worked at Cardiff University and Goldsmiths, University of London, and held a Chair in Media and Cultural Industries at the University of Groningen until 2021.

She is also (co-)author of several publications, including Making a Difference with Media (Dutch), The Art of the Scientific Story (Dutch), and Beyond Journalism.
