Louise ter Kuile Appointed as Interim Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics

Effective October 1 2025, Louise ter Kuile will start as Interim Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE). She succeeds Suzanne Ekel, who recently decided to step down as Dean. Louise offers extensive leadership experience and knowledge of the AUAS and will build on the changes Suzanne has initiated.
Since Suzanne took office last April, it has become clear that the task facing the faculty requires a different interpretation of the role than was apparent at the time of her appointment and than Suzanne had envisaged. After careful consideration, Suzanne concluded that her ambitions do not lie here.
Louise is an experienced interim leader in higher education and knows our university of applied sciences well. She previously served as Interim Director of Operations at the Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industries (FDMCI) and Interim Director of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI). Louise also previously served as Director of the Utrecht School of the Arts, InHolland University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Groningen.
With the appointment of Louise ter Kuile, the university of applied sciences is committing to stability and continuity. In the coming period, Louise will lead the faculty through its transition. Louise ter Kuile: “I look forward to working with all my colleagues to build on the path that has been taken and lay a solid foundation for the future. Together we will create a stable and inspiring environment for both staff and students.”
Jopie Nooren, Chair of the Executive Board: “In Louise we have found an experienced and committed leader who steers transparently whilst maintaining connection with people. She knows our organisation well and can confidently lead the faculty during this period.” The recruitment process for a permanent Dean will start in 2026. Because we take care and allow ourselves time, the faculty will be assured of stability and continuity during the transition under the leadership of the Interim Dean.
