With the publication of the Keuzegids Masters 2026, we once again see that many AUAS Master’s programmes* are highly valued by our students. Most programmes score around the national average, and several Master’s clearly exceed it. This is a compliment to all the teams who work every day to provide high-quality education for our students.

The Master’s in Climate Psychology and Behaviour receives the highest student ratings within AUAS and scores well above the national average on all assessed components. A result to be proud of and a fine example of what a focus on quality and attention to students can achieve.

In addition, the European MSc in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Leraar Engels and the Master Performance, Sport and Health are also rated above average. These programmes show that there are many strong examples within AUAS from which we can learn and which can inspire one another. For a number of Master’s programmes, student ratings are below the national average. These programmes are working on improvements, such as different forms of assessment, clearer information for students and a stronger connection with the professional field.

Equivalent to university Master’s degrees

Every day, the world around us changes: new challenges, new opportunities, new solutions. Through AUAS Master’s programmes, students engage in practice-based research that is directly applicable in professional practice. Master’s students contribute to innovations addressing societal challenges such as the energy transition, population ageing and the rise of AI.
AUAS Master’s programmes are equivalent to university Master’s degrees and lead to an internationally recognised degree title such as MA (Master of Arts) or MSc (Master of Science). The practice-based AUAS Master’s programmes are intended for both working professionals and graduates progressing from a university of applied sciences or a research university. They are offered in full-time, part-time or work-study formats.

More about the Keuzegids Masters

The Keuzegids Masters provides insight into, among other things, labour market figures, enrolment figures, the percentage of international students and student ratings on five specific themes from the National Student Survey (NSE). These themes are content, lecturers, assessment, career preparation and atmosphere. Whereas the NSE presents absolute scores, the Keuzegids Masters compares results with the national average. A ‘+’ indicates above average and a ‘–’ below average.

The Keuzegids Masters 2026 (opens in new window) (in Dutch) is accessible for students and employees via the AUAS network. Please make sure your VPN is enabled.

* For a number of HvA Master’s programmes, no student ratings are included in the Keuzegids because they have only recently started or insufficient data is available. An overview of all AUAS Master’s programmes can be found on the AUAS website.
