Somaya Ben Allouch, Professor Digital Life at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, has been featured in Celebrating Women in Engineering: Why Inclusion Matters, a publication by Sage Journals that highlights female researchers and professionals who are making a significant contribution to technology, innovation and inclusion.

Sage (opens in new window)is a leading international publisher of scientific journals, books and research platforms. Through this publication, the publisher shines a spotlight on researchers whose work contributes to the future of engineering and technology.

The recognition for Ben Allouch came about following a nomination by the editors-in-chief of the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments (JAISE), of which she has been a member of the editorial board for over ten years.

Technology with a social impact

In her research, Somaya Ben Allouch focuses on the development and application of digital technologies that contribute to health, wellbeing and an inclusive society. Her work combines people, technology and healthcare, always putting the needs of users first. 

Diversity in engineering

The publication Celebrating Women in Engineering: Why Inclusion Matters was released to mark International Women in Engineering Day (INWED). In it, Sage brings together stories from female researchers, authors and editors whose work contributes to a more inclusive and innovative future.
