The Green DigiFashion Tech Manager

The Green DigiFashion Tech Manager is an Erasmus+ programme aimed at training a new type of professional who can assist the fashion industry in its necessary digital and sustainable transition. In collaboration with various partners, digital tools are being developed, along with a Digital Science Platform and a curriculum in which climate neutrality, the circular economy and wellbeing serve as guiding principles in the transformation towards a digital and green fashion industry.

Training the Green DigiFashTech Manager: Sustainability and Digitalisation in Fashion

The Erasmus+ project 'Green DigiFashTech Manager (opens in new window) focuses on training professionals who can lead the fashion and textile industry towards a sustainable and digital future. By integrating digital technologies and sustainability, we aim to achieve climate neutrality and a circular economy within the sector. ​

Research methods/approaches

The project takes a practical approach, identifying and integrating innovative AI and digital tools into the curriculum. A diagnostic tool is being developed to assess the digital readiness of fashion companies, and a new job profile, the Green Digital Fashion Manager, is being created. ​

Connection with education

The project is developing e-learning modules and an online teacher’s guide, which are being put to immediate use in teaching at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI). This strengthens the link between theory and practice and prepares students for the future job market. ​

Expected Results

The development of an e-learning platform, a Citizen Digital Science Hub, and a train-the-trainer programme. These outcomes facilitate knowledge-sharing and collaboration within the fashion industry and promote the implementation of sustainable and digital practices. ​

Team AUAS

The project team comprises experts from the AMFI, including lecturer José Teunissen, and international partners with expertise in fashion, sustainability and technology. ​

Partners

The consortium comprises partners from Greece, Sweden, the Netherlands and North Macedonia, including PANSiK, SOFFA, and We Love You Communication. This collaboration promotes a multidisciplinary approach and the exchange of knowledge.

Relevance to the Fashion Design & Identity Research Group

This project aligns seamlessly with the Fashion Design & Identity research group’s focus on the impact of digitalisation and sustainability within the fashion industry. It strengthens the research agenda and contributes to the development of innovative educational
