Theory of Change Magical Bridge Foundation
Project
The Magical Bridge Foundation's (opens in new window)inclusive play areas encourage interaction, physical activity and community bonding in the neighbourhood. The foundation aims to better substantiate and strengthen this social value. To this end, researchers are translating the foundation’s mission into a coherent and measurable impact model. This model translates the foundation’s mission into clear relationships between activities, outcomes and impact. The foundation can use this model for policy development, evaluation and strategic communication.
Through this Theory of Change, we demonstrate how the Magical Bridge Foundation makes an impact and contributes to an inclusive social infrastructure with demonstrable social value.

Objective
To develop a well-founded and measurable Theory of Change that demonstrates the social value of Magical Bridge as an inclusive public space.
Method
The project combines document analysis with an analysis of existing research. Researchers are also collaborating with the Magical Bridge Foundation through co-creation. Based on this, they are developing a Theory of Change comprising activities, outcomes, outputs and impact. In interactive sessions, they refine the model and translate it into a framework for monitoring and evaluation.
Expected results/outputs
- Detailed Theory of Change for the Magical Bridge Foundation
- Visual ToC model
Social impact
The ToC strengthens the recognition of inclusive play areas as sustainable social infrastructure. The model supports investment in public spaces that contribute to inclusion, health and social cohesion.
Contribution to education and research
The project contributes to knowledge about inclusive public spaces and impact modelling. Students and researchers work on current social issues and develop expertise in the Theory of Change methodology and the evaluation of social infrastructure.
