Arrival webinars
To help you prepare for your arrival in the Netherlands, the arrival team hosts an interactive webinar before the start of each semester.
The 'Arriving in Amsterdam' webinar informs international students on the following topics:
- Moving in to your new home
- How to register with the municipality (mandatory)
- Insurances (mandatory)
- How to open a bank account (mandatory for non-EU students)
- How to collect your residence permit (for non-EU students)
- The costs of living in Amsterdam
- How to get around Amsterdam & the Netherlands
- Where to pick up your student ID card
The webinar offers the possibility to get in touch with the International Office staff and fellow international students. Recordings of the previous webinar can be found below. The next arrival webinar will be held in August 2026 - the exact date will be announced here.
