Research into the impact of e-business

The Digital Commerce professorship conducts applied research into the adoption of online business models, internet technologies and social media and their impact on society.

The goal of the professorship is to develop new insights into e-business through research for the curriculum of business and management as well as their domains professional practice.

We mainly do research into the commercial interactions between companies and consumers (business-to-consumer e-commerce). Reseach themes for the professorship currently include: the evolution and the success of online business models, the application of social media by companies and consumers, and the implications of online shopping for shopping locations and mobility.

Do you have issues or questions in the area of online business that you’d like a well-researched answer to? Have you noticed a trend in your online activities that you’d imagine might interest the business community? Be sure to contact professor Jesse Weltevreden.
