Most of these projects are in collaboration with European partners and secure funding via Erasmus+, Interreg or Horizon 2020.

ABCitiEs: Area Based Collaborative Entrepreneurship in Cities
The AUAS is the lead partner in this project, funded by Interreg Europe, which researches how policy can be organised in such a way as to provide optimum support for cooperating entrepreneurs in urban areas.

ATELIER: Developing energy-positive districts in Amsterdam and Bilbao
Amsterdam has received a European grant for the development of an ‘energy-positive’ district in the Buiksloterham neighbourhood. Some 1.3 million euros of this Horizon 2020 grant is allocated to the AUAS.

Cities including Children
Coordinated by the AUAS, this Erasmus+ project unites 11 international partners around social inclusion, particularly in regard to the development and education of young children and their families in urban areas.

The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences is working with 12 European partners in the Interreg project Cool Towns, which aims to help European municipalities tackle the problem of heat stress.

HeatNet: application of low-temperature heating networks in cities
The international research project HeatNet analyses the roll-out of fourth-generation heating networks in six Northern European cities. The AUAS is tasked with analysing the progress of these pilots.

Innovative Clubs for Dual Careers
The ICDC project combined high-quality training and education for young athletes between the ages of 14 and 21 who practice water sports, namely canoeing, rowing and swimming.
