Anne Risselada is an economic geographer with expertise in the areas of retail, corporate location policy and urban development. With the AUAS she focuses on future-proof inner-city shopping areas, the impact of collective online marketing strategies on retail areas and the infrastructural consequences of online shopping.

Anne studied Sociology and Social Geography at the University of Amsterdam; she wrote her PhD at Utrecht Unniversity. The thesis ‘Housing the Mobile Entrepreneur’ explains how real estate variables, neighbourhood traits and private concerns impact the locationchoices made by entrepreneurs in urban areas.

Following her thesis Anne became advisor with the Bureau of Urban Planning, where she involves herself closely with issues in retail: she drafts analyses of branch and retail location policy, distributive motivations and impact studies.
