SBR in business

Project

Project

The Instant Reporting centre of expertise and CAREM have been carrying out the research programme 'SBR in business’ from 2012 to 2014. Within the coming years, the impact of information technology on finance is a core research team. Together with our digital finance lab (Arvum Accountants) we develop new projects with companies that develop new business models using ICT.

Standard Business Reporting

Standard Business Reporting (SBR) allows Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) to efficiently exchange digital data from financial reporting with accountants, banks and (semi-) public bodies. Few SMEs are as of yet using SBR, partially because software suppliers have been late in implementing the standard. A lot of SMEs also lack the knowledge needed to use SBR.

Now that government has made SBR compulsory for a number of tax reports from 2013 onwards, SMEs have started asking questions. Jesse Weltevreden: 'The aim of this project is to give SMEs insights into the strengths and drawbacks of SBR as well as concrete steps to help them get started with its implementation'.
