Generation Blockchain

Expanding Knowledge on Blockchain Technology

Project

Generation Blockchain is an Erasmus+ research project focusing on blockchain technology and its impact on the rapidly changing economy. This two-year project involves several European colleges and universities, led by the Polish University of Szczecin.

The Generation Blockchain project aims to increase knowledge of blockchain technology among students and teachers and seeks to integrate blockchain concepts and applications into academic disciplines, education, research, industry, and governance.

CHANGING ECONOMY

Blockchain technology is making a swift and global rise, significantly influencing business, finance, technology, and even the art sector. This shift is creating new career opportunities, including within Europe. To adapt proactively to these changes, it is crucial to embrace these new technologies.

Specific Objectives:

  1. Generation Blockchain Audit and Framework: This highlights how blockchain is currently taught in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Europe.
  2. Generation Blockchain Online Course: A course that enables flexible, inclusive learning through an interactive and digitalized platform.
  3. Inverted Learning Open Educational Resources: Partner country business schools will test and improve the new teaching methods.

INTERNATIONAL CONSORTIUM

The project builds on previous successes such as the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project ‘Generation Data’. Additionally, two consortium partners are currently involved in the Digital Innovation project (also Erasmus+).

Consortium Partners

  • Lead Partner: University of Szczecin, Poland
  • University of Porto, Portugal
  • Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) – FBE/AMSIB & FDMCI /ICT, Netherlands
  • Frankfurt Blockchain Center, Frankfurt University, Germany – an expert in Blockchain leading the development of Open Educational Resources.
  • European E-learning Institute, Denmark – specializing in immersive educational environments and digital teaching techniques.
  • Momentum, Ireland – one of Ireland’s leading organizations in business training, collaborating with over 100 SMEs (Small & Medium-Sized Enterprises) and HPSUs (High Potential StartUps).

From AUAS: AMSIB & Entrepreneurship

The topic requires a multidisciplinary approach. While it has a strong business-related aspect, the IT side also plays a significant role. Therefore, AMSIB teachers collaborate with FDMCI-IT teachers (Minor Blockchain).

Generation Blockchain is under the responsibility of Dean Rogier Busser of AMSIB. AUAS's contribution focuses primarily on research, in collaboration with partners, into where and how blockchain concepts can be integrated into education.

The Entrepreneurship Research Group is particularly interested in the opportunities that arise for student entrepreneurship and how blockchain can contribute to the development of new (innovative, sustainable, and inclusive) business models. Ingrid Wakkee, Professor of Entrepreneurship, has an advisory role.
