Dr. Juanfra Alvarado Valenzuela

JuanFra Alvarado Valenzuela, sociologist, is a researcher in the topic of entrepreneurial failure and recovery. This project, called Fenix, is creating the largest database of entrepreneurial stories of failure and recovery and integrating the topic of resilience in educational programs. The findings are also transformed to tools and reports for municipalities and organizations that help entrepreneurs in hard times.

In his doctoral research, he investigated the role of innovation and social networks of migrant entrepreneurs in Italy and the Netherlands. Alongside research activities, Dr. Alvarado Valenzuela is involved in the dissemination of academic knowledge to policymakers through projects with the Municipality of Amsterdam, the Metropolis Project, and the IMISCOE Network.
