Lori DiVito joined the Amsterdam School of International Business in 2007 as a lecturer. Her research interests focus on understanding the dynamics of knowledge-intensive firms, including their formation, internationalisation and innovation strategies given their national and sectoral institutional environment. She has completed a comparative study of biopharmaceutical firms in the UK and the Netherlands and is currently involved in two research projects.

The first project is a study funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council and aims to provide insight on the relationship between foreign acquisitions of UK biopharmaceutical firms, and the continuation in development of the acquired technological assets in the national or regional (UK) innovation system.

The second project focuses on the internationalisation of Amsterdam faculty of Business and Economics in the fashion industry and organisational capabilities. She has presented results of her work at various academic conferences in Europe and the USA, and has an upcoming publication in Research Policy. Prior to her academic work, Dr DiVito gained extensive experience in direct and online marketing for high-tech multinationals and advertising agencies.

Dr DiVito holds a BA from San Francisco State University, an MBA from Webster University, Leiden, in The Netherlands, and a PhD in Organisational Studies from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK. She is currently a member of the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, and the Danish Research Unit for Industrial Dynamics (DRUID) Society.
