from HAW Hamburg – International Management/Foreign Trade | studying at AUAS at the AMSIB (Amsterdam School of Business)

I am originally from Berlin and moved to Hamburg to start my business studies there. The last 7 months I lived in London, which was an amazing experience. I decided to do an exchange semester in Amsterdam because I like to live in different cities and experience different cultures. Also I wanted to see how the teaching style differs to the one in my home country.

I cannot recommend it enough to work and study abroad. For your future career this is the best you can do. My experience at HvA so far is good. All the professors seem to care about you and also the studies involve more group assignments and presentations than at my home university. The benefit of having assignments during the semester is that is in the end you don’t have that many final exams and the grade consists of different parts.

I choose different courses from different minors. Unfortunately one course I wanted to attend was full. So my recommendation is be quick when you sign up for the courses. What is really great at HvA is that you meet a lot of students with different cultural backgrounds. Due to the cultural diversity you learn a lot about different countries, their way of life and business.
