Expertise:
David Geneste (1976) is an architectural historian. From 2002 to 2006 he worked for the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi) in Rotterdam where he researched nineteenth-century architects’ archives. He currently teaches urban, literary and cultural studies at the Department of Languages, Cultures and Education at the Faculty of Education of Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) in the Netherlands. His interests lie in European art and architecture as much as that of the world beyond Europe, particularly in the Indian subcontinent. He is currently exploring stepwells in Gujarat and Rajasthan, the (global) metaphysics of hyperboloid cooling towers and the potential of built environment education in urban contexts.
