Dr. Ir. R. van den Hoed (Robert)

Robert van den Hoed has been professor of Energy and Innovation at the AUAS since January 2011. Robert graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Design at Delft University of Technology, after which he undertook doctoral research at the same faculty. The central question in his research was how established industries react to radically new and sustainable technologies, using hydrogen and fuel cell technology in the automotive industry as a case study.

Between 2004 and 2010, Robert worked as a senior consultant at Ecofys, a consultancy firm that specialises in energy savings and sustainable energy. Within Ecofys, he was responsible for setting up and implementing projects related to hydrogen and fuel cell technology, ranging from sociotechnical feasibility studies and scenario studies to concrete demonstrations. He has also been involved in various studies in the areas of sustainable mobility, electric vehicles and energy innovations.
