Karen Jones teaches legal aspects of sports management and ethics at Sportkunde - leerroute SM&O track and Sports Studies - track ISMB. She has extensive experience in contracts, procurement and compliance for international companies such as Dell, HSBC and Philips.

She worked as programme coordinator for the TMC Asser Institute, International Sports Law Centre in The Hague. She was also chief editor of the International Sports Law Journal (ISLJ).

Karen wrote various articles and book chapters, has spoken at international conferences, including CONI (Italian Olympic Committee), and led a match-fixing session in Singapore for Interpol. Karen is the Executive Director of Global and Graduate Programs at the Law Center of the University of Houston, and owner of Mission2Transition LLC.

Karen earned a law degree from Southern Methodist University, a master’s in Sociology from DePaul University and a bachelor's degree from Columbia College Chicago. She is studying for a PhD at KU Leuven in sport governance.

Karen is a certified mediator and yoga breath coach. She enjoys running, cooking, gardening and helping students achieve their goals.
