Margriet Pol is Senior Lecturer in Research in the Occupational Therapy programme and Senior Researcher in the Occupational Therapy Participation and Environment lectorate. She teaches within the Care Technology minor and the graduate programme of Occupational Therapy. She also supervises students of the European Master of Science in Occupational Therapy with their graduation thesis.

Within the Occupational Therapy Professorship, Margriet works on her own research line Technology and Participation. This line focuses on rehabilitation and technology. The focus is on supporting and enabling daily activities in one's own environment and participation in social life.

Previously, Margriet worked as an occupational therapist at various healthcare organisations. In 2015, she completed her master's degree in Social Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, specialising in Social Gerontology. In 2019, she obtained her PhD with research on the application of sensor technology in the daily functioning of elderly people living independently.

Besides the AUAS, Margriet works as a senior researcher at UNO Amsterdam; the university network elderly care of the Amsterdam UMC (location VUmc). Researchers and care professionals connect scientific knowledge with daily practice in the 24 affiliated care organisations.

Margriet works as a science practitioner at Vivium naarderheem where she contributes to research and innovation in geriatric rehabilitation with a focus on the use of ehealth. Margriet is also involved in research and education projects within the living lab GRZplus.
