Monique Schaule Jullens (MSc.) is program manager for the Digital Life Research Group.

She advises and supports in the financial process of submitting, organizing and managing national and European research projects. She is the interface between professors and academics working on research projects, AUAS departments involved (control, HRM), project partners (consortia) and project funding institutions.

She uses her organization- and process management talents in supporting AUAS in requesting project funding. And in addition, once a request is approved, in ensuring that assigned funding is actually obtained because the right researchers spend their time on the right activities.

During her Development Economics study at the Free University of Amsterdam she carried out field research into the children’s contribution to the household in Central Java, in cooperation with sister university Satya Wacana in Salatiga. She obtained her MSc degree in 1988 with a thesis on child labor in Southeast Asia.

Previous activities

Before starting at AUAS in 2009, she was a Strategic Marketeer at KPN and a Billing Manager at Unisource Business Networks. At The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), she built on her experience in international program management and business development. She worked on various development cooperation projects of TNO in Egypt and was a participant in trade missions to amongst others Israel.
