Kasja Weenink has been working at the HERI Lectorate since January 2022, where she researches different perspectives on higher education in practice.

After her education in economic and social history at the University of Groningen, she worked as a policy advisor and project manager for various organizations in education and research, such as the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, SURF and TU Delft. She has always had an eye for daily practice in complex organizations. 'How do stakeholders in various contexts realize good education together and what do they consider important?' is therefore a recurring question.

Within the lectorate, Kasja works with other researchers on the 'Student and Knowledge' project, which assesses the role of knowledge in the development of students into professionals during their bachelor's degree. How do they become professionals and how are the concepts of knowledge and identity thereby expressed in their intentions and actions?

The research within the HERI professorship is in line with the dissertation on the realization of higher education quality that she is conducting at the Institute for Science in Society at Radboud University.
