Management

You will learn how to source, produce and sell clothes in a smart and sustainable way. You will be ready to change the world of fashion and find solutions to sustainability issues. You will be equipped to work at well-known brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Hunkemöller, Diesel, Hugo Boss, Zeeman, Nike, C&A and Suitsupply. You will be ready to work as a product development manager, brand manager, fashion purchasing agent, supply chain manager, sustainability manager or marketing strategist. You can also choose to pursue a career as an academic researcher, at an NGO (an organisation working on social or environmental issues) or in your own fashion company.

Design

As a fashion designer, you will learn all about shape, colour, material and technique. You will be familiar with the social, economic and cultural aspects of fashion and understand the role played by technology. You will use your creativity and modern digital design and visualisation techniques to make a difference in the dynamic world of fashion. After your studies, you will be able to work as an independent designer, industrial designer, digital designer, textile designer or developer at brands such as G-Star, H&M or Adidas, or at magazines such as ELLE. Some graduates even start their own clothing brands.

Branding

You will have strong visual and text-based communication skills and understand the power of a brand. You will have learned how to develop and manage brand concepts, the strategies you can use, and how to apply design principles. You will be able to translate social change into brand positioning and communication. After your studies, you will be ready to work as a brand manager, brand strategist, creative strategist, content developer, creator or art director. You will be able to work at fashion brands such as Acne Studios, Adidas, Diesel or Nike, in the media at Glamcult, ELLE or LINDA., at agencies such as Stijlinstituut, Concrete Associates or DDB, or at companies such as HEMA, Zalando and Bijenkorf.

Continuing your studies

A Bachelor’s degree in higher professional education is an excellent foundation for further study. After graduating from AMFI, you can enrol in a Master’s degree programme at AUAS, at another university of applied sciences or at a research university, in the Netherlands or abroad.
