Registration, introductory meeting & preparation!

Are you a student team working on an idea for a creative solution or sustainable innovation? And do you want to turn this idea into a start-up that really makes an impact?

The Amsterdam University of Applied Science (AUAS) offers the selected student start-ups the opportunity to follow a tailor-made incubator program and accelerate the development of their start-up. The startups are in the race to be admitted and participate in a unique program of workshops, masterclasses, coaching and peer to peer learning to help the student founders realize their startup. You will become acquainted with the AUAS entrepreneurial ecosystem and develop a network of peers, experts and mentors.

Requirements

To submit an application, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. The team consists of one to five students, at least one of whom has an active enrollment - or has graduated in the past two years - at an Amsterdam higher education institution.
  2. There is an intrinsic motivation to invest 20 weeks with 10K in your own startup, with a minimum load of 8 hours per week, to find out what it takes to make a success of a good idea.
  3. There is an idea for a product or service, and thought has gone into how this idea will deliver added value.
  4. There is a vision about who the potential target group is for whom this added value is relevant.
  5. There is not yet a "market-ready" minimal viable product.

Not necessary

It is not necessary that:

  • The team absolutely wants to start a new company - there are several organizational forms to realize an idea.
  • There is already a prototype or mock-up (recommended).
  • A business model has already been considered.
  • The team is already registered with the Kamer van Koophandel and/or has come up with a brand or company name.
  • Sales or other economic activities have already taken place.
  • The team primarily has a commercial objective or motivation - a social enterprise is certainly also appropriate.
  • It is a technological or digital product (a service or process innovation is also possible)

Incubator program

The 10K Pre-Incubator Program has a number of elements:

  • During the program you will work on your business model, market research and team, resulting in a business plan in the form of a pitch deck
  • You will gain extensive experience in perfecting your pitch and pitch skills while building your network
  • A personal coach guides you through the entire program and helps you get the most out of everything
  • You are part of a group of startups that are just as eager to learn and grow their startup as you Finally, you will receive more than ten master classes* that not only help you with your start-up, but also enrich you as a young professional.

* important: if you do not speak Dutch as a student, you may not be able to attend some masterclasses, as some meetings are only given in Dutch.
