Social Impact of the RKC Waalwijk Foundation

The football club RKC Waalwijk promotes vitality and mental wellbeing in the city. It does this through projects such as ‘Ieder1Gelijk’, which focuses on respect and bullying, and ‘Scoor een Boek!’, which promotes reading. Researchers from the Sport Management & Sport Business research group support the club by measuring its social impact.
Theory of Change
The Theory of Change is a visual framework that shows how activities lead to social impact. It links activities to impact and clarifies how an organisation aims to achieve its goals. The research group supports RKC Waalwijk in measuring impact. By collecting and analysing data, researchers gain insight into the effectiveness of the club’s projects.
RKC Waalwijk has shown for many years that structured use of the Theory of Change creates greater impact. It also makes impact measurable and transparent. With this project, we take the next step.

Aim
This project has 2 goals. First, we make the social impact of the RKC Waalwijk Foundation visible. Second, we support the organisation and its staff to carry out impact measurements independently.
Approach
Using the Theory of Change method, we study the impact of the RKC Waalwijk Foundation’s projects. We use both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Expected results
Based on the analysed data, we produce a detailed report with findings, conclusions, and recommendations. This report gives RKC Waalwijk clear insights and practical tools to improve the social impact of its projects.
