Direct debit authorisation
You can pay your tuition fees by granting the AUAS a direct debit authorisation for full payment or payment in instalments. Your authorisation will continue until you terminate your enrolment in Studielink.
You can pay your tuition fees by granting AUAS a direct debit authorisation. You can authorise full payment or payment in instalments. You can arrange the authorisation yourself or have a third party do it on your behalf.
Authorisation instructions
You can arrange the authorisation from11 May digitally via Studielink (opens in new window).
Please note the following:
- You can pay your tuition fees in one instalment or in 10 instalments. If you start in February or are following a bridging programme, you can pay in one instalment or in 5 instalments.
- You can authorise the AUAS yourself, or have someone else provide authorisation on your behalf. To do so, both you and the person making payment will each need an active DigiD.
- Direct debit from a foreign bank account is only possible if the account is held within the SEPA area.
- You can only set up the authorisation once you have received a notification about it. Keep a close eye on 'My to-do list' in Studielink and your inbox.
- Your authorisation continues each academic year until you terminate your enrolment in Studielink.

Conditions for authorisation
By granting AUAS a direct debit authorisation, you agree to the general conditions that apply to such an authorisation.
When will the amount be debited?
The first instalment will be withdrawn from your bank account on 25 September 2026. If you pay in 10 instalments, the one-off administrative fee of €24 will be deducted at the same time. If you pay everything at once, the full amount will also be withdrawn on 25 September 2026. You must ensure your bank balance is sufficient to cover the payment and that your account is not blocked for direct debits.

FAQ Direct debit authorisation
How do I change the bank account number for direct debits?
If you arranged your authorisation digitally via Studielink (through your bank’s banking environment), you can update the bank account number yourself — but not immediately. The ‘Change payment details’ button only becomes visible one hour after entering your details.
If you accidentally entered the wrong account number, you will need to wait a short while before you can correct it.
Follow these steps to change your bank account number via Studielink:
- Log in to Studielink and go to the ‘Payment’ tab.
- You will see the ‘Change payment details’ button. Click it to change the account number from which your tuition fees are collected.
- If you submit the new account number fewer than 5 working days before the direct debit date, the amount will still be debited from your old account.
If you do not see the ‘Change payment details’ button, it means you provided authorisation via Studielink (not via your bank), or someone else is paying your tuition fees. In that case, you can no longer amend the authorisation yourself via Studielink.
Please submit any change to the bank account number via the Finance form. You can also use this form to change the number of instalments (from one to 10 instalments or vice versa).
Can I still change the number of instalments after confirming my direct debit authorisation?
After having confirmed the direct debit authorisation, you can change the number of instalments from one to ten or from ten instalments to one (September intake). You can only change the number of instalments before the first direct debit is processed, and only via the Finance form. You will need your AUAS log-in details to do so.
What if I’m unable to pay an outstanding instalment amount?
If you have fallen behind on your tuition fee payments, you will receive a one-off e-mail within 20 days containing an iDEAL link to pay the outstanding amount. If you are unable to pay this, or if you have missed more than one instalment, you can request a tuition fee payment plan yourself via the Finance form.
Please bear the following conditions in mind:
- The regular direct debit payments will continue as normal.
- You will arrange payment on the agreed dates, either by direct debit or by bank transfer.
- The payment plan will become invalid if a payment is not received on time.
- Your full outstanding amount must be paid by June.
- It is not possible to arrange a new payment plan alongside an existing one.
- Failure to honour the payment plan will result in you being unable to log in, and may have consequences for your enrolment.
- Your outstanding amount must be paid in full before you can re-enrol.
What to do if authorisation via Studielink is not possible
If you are unable to arrange authorisation via Studielink but still wish to use this payment method, please contact the Central Student Administration.
