How do I qualify?

Supervising an intern is a big responsibility for us and for you. Together we want to guarantee the quality of the internship and make sure that these young professionals receive the best possible guidance. Therefore we set up a few criteria that will help us give them the best start of their career:

As an internship organisation you must:

  • operate within 'the world of sport'. The internship assignment also takes place within this playing field.
  • offer a workplace within the organisation for the student. At least 75% of the internship takes place on location.
  • be a professional organisation and not a volunteer organisation (unless demonstrably a professional organization with (paid) employees working during the day). This only applies to the internship in the 2nd year of study.
  • have a minimum of 3 (paid) employees of which 1 will take the role of student supervisor.
  • be able to offer demonstrably sufficient representative operational work to an intern that develops pertinent skills and is meaningful for the organisation.
  • have an internship supervisor with a minimum of HBO work and/or thinking level willing to give constructive feedback regularly to the intern.
  • have an internship supervisor with at least 3 years of experience as a sports manager.

Number of interns:

  • a maximum of 2 students may do an internship at the same time.
  • The Internship office may deviate from this if you have a well-motivated reason. The internship office will assess this.
  • If a third student is allowed to do an internship at your organization, this student may not be supervised by someone who already has 2 students under his or her care.
