International student housing

Studying in Amsterdam is an unforgettable experience. Given this fact, a good place to live is essential. The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) assists international students in finding housing in Amsterdam, but the demand for student housing is high and available accommodation is scarce. We can offer a limited number of rooms. The AUAS cannot guarantee housing, but we will do our utmost to help you.

  • You are an exchange student for 1 or 2 semesters or
  • You are an international student starting your first year of an English spoken study program* and
  • You did not receive housing through the AUAS or Oncampus before

*Please contact us if you are an international student starting a Dutch spoken study program. We cannot guarantee housing for you, but we will try to assist you, depending on availability.

If you are planning on staying in Amsterdam for longer than one year, we strongly advise you to register also at Dutch student housing websites long before your arrival in Amsterdam (as soon as you have registered for your degree programme). Registration could provide you with a student room when AUAS can no longer assist you with housing.

Of course, students are free to search for housing on the private market. You will need to start your search in time. More information and advice on finding a room independently
