From January to July of 2013 the Amsterdam RAI and the professorship e-Business research the effectivity of using Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for Dutch fairs and event organisations. Amsterdam RAI supplied funding for three graduate researchers from the AUAS.

As the largest fair and congress centre in the Netherlands Amsterdam RAI seeks continuously to enhance the renown, involvement and the experience of its fairs and events through internet technology. At the level of the individual post, research was conducted into the success factors behind using social media to generate attention for fairs and events. The goal of the research was to give Amsterdam RAI insight into the impact of social media sites Facebook, Twitter and YouTube on its activities.
