Housing

If you’re moving to Amsterdam for your studies, please ensure that you have realistic expectations about housing options and costs. As one of the most popular university towns in the Netherlands, the demand for reasonably priced accommodation is very high. It is a challenge to find suitable accommodation in Amsterdam, therefore it is important to arrange your accommodation as soon as possible.

At ESP, the International Office can assist you regarding housing. For the new academic year, ESP reserves approximately 20 rooms for ESP students. The AUAS has agreements with a limited number of housing corporations in order to provide furnished accommodation to international students for a maximum period of one year.

Most students choose to live in dedicated student housing or share a flat with other students. Estimated costs for this type of accommodation can range from €500 to €1200 a month, depending on the location and a variety of other factors. Learn more about searching for accommodation on the housing page.
