The explanation of the String Instrument by researcher and lecturer Linda van Ooijen-van der Linden.
The String Instrument presents a metaphor of implementation during an educational change project. This can help your team consider the theoretical (the plan, often linear) and actual implementation (non-linear) during your project, keeping a consistency between them.
The theoretical implementation concerns the plan devised in advance and is often linear, whereas the actual implementation is usually non-linear.
Discuss integration of research and education
The Higher Education, Research and Innovation (HERI) research grouphas developed tools and workshops to discuss research integration with your team. These instruments help you discuss different perspectives, define what 'quality' means for you, and what kind of research is appropriate for your context.
You can find all the instruments here.
