About this programme
In the Fashion & Textile Technologies Bachelor’s programme at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI), you will learn all about the world of fashion: from designing and making garments to selling and promoting them. You will develop your own style and craftsmanship. From the buzzing city, you will have the chance to express creativity and learn from international lecturers at the forefront of management, design and branding. Do you have a passion for fashion? Programme structure
At AMFI, you step straight into the world of fashion. First, you will discover how the industry works and what role you can play in it. After a broad introduction, you will start your specialisation: Fashion & Management, Fashion & Branding or Fashion & Design. You will work with students from other specialisations on practical assignments, always focusing on sustainability, diversity and digitalisation. From your third year, you can do an internship or minor. After your graduation project in the fourth year, you will be ready to conquer the fashion industry.

- Year 1
Semester 1
The first semester of Year 1 is all about building a strong foundation. Together with other first-year students, you will learn all about the world of fashion. A personal and professional development (PPD) pathway will help you discover your talents and goals, so that you grow not only professionally, but also personally.Semester 2
In semester 2, you will study your chosen specialisation in depth. You will acquire specific knowledge and skills within Fashion & Management, Fashion & Branding or Fashion & Design.- Year 2
In Year 2, you will continue within your chosen specialisation. You will develop the knowledge and skills you need to become an expert in your chosen field.
- Year 3
In the first semester of Year 3, you will dive deeper into Fashion & Management, Fashion & Branding, or Fashion & Design. In the second semester, you can choose to do a minor or an internship.
- Year 4
In the first semester of Year 4, you will do either a minor or an internship, depending on what you chose in Year 3. In the second semester, you will work on your graduation project. After that, you will be ready to create the fashion of the future.
The AMFI Fashion & Textile Technology programme has an enrolment quota. A selection procedure therefore applies.

The Dutch havo, vwo or mbo 4
There are different admission requirements for Dutch and international diplomas. Students who apply for the AMFI international programme are expected to have good written and verbal skills in English. A selection procedure includes an assignment and motivation interview.
Study load
40 hours a week
At AMFI you have at least 16 contact hours per week in the first year. In addition, you will spend approximately 24 hours a week on projects, research and assignments and preparing for classes and assessments.
Tuition
Tuition fees and extra costs
In addition to the annually set tuition fee you must take into account approximately €800 per year for books, readers, magazines, materials and excursions.
