Registration and costs

Registration is only possible through the digital application form on the right side of the web page. Your registration will only be processed if all of the required fields have been completed and the requested documents attached. All correspondence will be by email. To this end, ensure that you have filled in your email address correctly.

Once your digital application has been successfully completed, you will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt. Note that this message is not a confirmation of registration, which will be sent to you in a separate email. If there are any matters that are unclear, Student Affairs will get in touch with you within five working days.

No later than five working days prior to the day of the test, you will receive an invitation. This message will list the examination times, the location and any other information that you may require. Please read these instructions carefully. Have you not received this email? Please check the spam folder of your email address first. The email is sent as a group email and could therefore be marked as spam.

Have you not received an invitation? In that case, get in touch with us no later than four working days before the examination day via

Registration for degree programme

Your registration to participate in the 21+ entrance examination is unrelated to your enrolment in the degree programme. You will have to enrol in the degree programme in time via Studielink. The AUAS website has more information about the registration procedure.

The 21+ entrance examination costs €185,-. This sum is regardless of the number of tests* that you will sit (also in case of partial exemption) and includes any resits that you take.

*A mark of 6 or higher on separate subject and/or language tests will remain valid for the entire academic year in which the entrance examination is taken (note that this fact is not the case for partial tests).

You may register for the entrance examination only twice each academic year. If you do register a second time, you must pay the entire exam fee again, regardless of the number of tests that you sit.

You can pay with iDEAL or by credit card (Mastercard and Visa). The participation fee must be paid before you register for the 21+ entrance examination.

Payment details: NL52DEUT0428925111, account name: Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, stating: kp 230105, 21+, and your first name and surname.

Upload the following when registering:

  • a copy of a valid ID (Dutch passport, Dutch ID card, driving licence, residence permit or foreign passport).

If you want to request extra exam time and/or extra exam aids, also include:

  • a copy of a statement of a registered professional indicating that you are eligible for an examination time limit extension and/or additional examination aids. If your exemption or examination time limit extension is approved, it will always be reported in your registration confirmation.

Changing a test date

It is possible to change a test date to one later in the same academic year (2019-2020) if it is requested in an email prior to the deadline for registering and deregistering.

If you want to change the test date after the deadline for registering and deregistering, it will only be possible if there are exceptional circumstances (e.g. illness, an accident, circumstances beyond your control involving public transport or weather conditions).

You can request a change via Include documentation explaining why you want the test date changed. Student Affairs will decide whether the documentation suffices to justify changing the test date (if indeed still possible).

It is not possible to change the test date to one falling outside academic year 2019-2020.
