The Faculty of Business and Economics offers a wide range of English taught courses to exchange students from the following study programmes:

  • BKMER - Business Management and Economics
  • CE part time - Commercial Economics
  • HRM - Human Resource Management
  • IBMS – International Business and Management Studies
  • IBL – International Business and Languages

You can choose a 30 credit minor programme or you can compose your own study programme from different minor programme specialisations. All prospective exchange students who will study next semester at the Faculty of Business and Economics need to read the course enrollment checklist before the course enrollment procedure.

Students who intend to study in Spring 2020 can use this online guide as a reference. Some module descriptions date from previous years. These descriptions can be used as a reference for academic year 2019/2020.

A 30 credit minor programme consists of a number of fixed, pre-selected courses focusing on a specific field of study.

We offer complete 30 credit minor programmes from both the Amsterdam School of International Business (AMSIB) and other study programmes (CE and BKMER) from the faculty of Business & Economics.

30 ECTS is the maximum permitted number of credits you can study per semester at the Faculty of Business and Economics.

All modules below take place at the Fraijlemaborg Building.

Students are considered eligible if they meet the following prerequisites before enrollment:

For the modules Controlling Accounting and Project and Treasury Management Project: at least two years proof or Management Accounting and Financial Accounting with literature references at level University of applied sciences.

Students who would like to register for the modules CAPE and TMP are advised to make the selftest to check if they are familair with the course material and if they are able to solve the case.

  • Fundamentals in Marketing or Marketing Management 1, or equivalent;
  • At least one module in Management and Organisation, and- Financial Accounting 1, Financial Management 1 and Corporate Finance 1, or equivalent.

  • Students should have achieved a minimum of 5 EC (or equivalent) in marketing, management, financial accounting, supply chain management, financial management, and/or corporate finance related courses prior to this minor.
  • It is advisable to have passed a course on cross cultural issues or related courses.
  • Command of the English language is at CEF level B2.
  • Students must be familiar with (applying) research methodologies.

Students are considered eligible if they meet the following prerequisites before enrollment:

It is recommendable that you have an affinity with finance and accounting, master the English language sufficiently, and possess the ambition to work and learn within an international context.

  • Command of the English language at CEF level B2.
  • Foundation-level knowledge of the three main financial statements, financial ratio analysis, time value of money, and capital budgeting.
